Damian Pinas showed once again at UFC 332 that his power is no joke.
One of the middleweight division’s most highly touted prospect, Pinas continued to live up to the hype Saturday in Salt Lake City, as he needed just 1:15 to land a blistering knockout uppercut on Andrew Pulyaev.

Pinas was 2-0 in the UFC heading into Saturday, and looked to steal the show on the prelims with a statement performance against the resilient Pulyaev. It wasn’t long before Pinas turned on the jets, throwing heavy leather before driving an uppercut straight up into Pulyaev’s chin. The explosive punch immediately robbed Pulyaev of his senses and referee Herb Dean was there to jump in for the save.
In his post-fight interview, Pinas downplayed the fast finish.
“That was not my full power again,” Pinas said. “I didn’t even warm up yet, I’m cold, I don’t do anything yet.”
With the win, Pinas improved to 12-1 as a pro with none of his fights going past the second round (including 10 wins by KO/TKO). He has won six straight fights by first-round knockout.
