Despite an early wave of shuttering stores, many businesses are growing in San Antonio. Some local businesses like coffee shop Pan and Coffee are taking the plunge and expanding their business with second location announcements. Here’s a roundup of businesses that are bringing their business home to San Antonio or taking theirs to another level.
Tesla, the tech supergiant, is expanding its presence in Central Texas alongside Austin’s growing technological hubs. With the growth of electrical vehicles, there is a need for more charging stations. According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, a new 5,300 sq ft Supercharger location will be headed to San Antonio’s Southside. It will be one of 60,000 across the country. Construction is expected to begin this February. The TDLR listing has the project to be completed by February 2026.

Pan and Coffee is expanding and adding a second location to their business, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing. The Stone Oak bakery is known for its study-friendly ambiance. The cafe offers a variety of specialty breakfast plates like chilaquiles and torta de milanesa to more traditional cafe eats like grilled cheese and BLTs. And good coffee, of course.

Good news for pizza lovers. Domino’s is adding another location to their pizza chain and this time it is in Scenic Oaks. Construction of the 1,664 sq ft location will begin in April and the Domino’s will open sometime in May 2025.

At the start of 2025, the retailer announced it would be expanding from 10 to 13 stores in San Antonio. The two latest stores announced will be located at off W. Commerce and the other at off Loop 1604. Both locations are expected to start construction in late March 2025 and end in August 2025. A third Burlington location has been announced at Brooks Corner Shopping Center. Improvements to an existing tenant space of approximately 29,930 sq ft began earlier this month in February 2025 and will be finished in April 2025.

Joining Asian retailer MINISO and Daiso in San Antonio, the Teso Life reflects the growing influence and demand for Japanese and Korean pop culture. The new TESO will lease 26,250 square feet and will be situated at the University Square shopping center. It is described as a “more upscale Daiso.” The store is expected to start construction in March 2025 and end in September 2025.

A $1.5 million Marshall’s is being built at The RIM. It will be Marshalls’ seventh San Antonio store.The 29,742 sq ft store will begin construction this June and should be under wraps by September 2025. It’s expected to be in the area of Five Below and Nordstrom Rack.

Keeping up with the city’s ever-expanding sprawl, H-E-B will add a new location to meet the demands and needs of Texans outside the city limits. Converse can look forward to a new H-E-B with all the trimmings. The superstore will be about 125,434 sq ft and has an estimated cost of $21,227,977. Construction will begin September 2025 and will be completed in November 2026.
