In Casa Grande, the local Arts & Culture Commission is calling on nonprofits to bring Hispanic and Latino culture to the forefront with sponsored art projects, as the city gears up for Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations from September 15 through October 15. The commission has opened its coffers to support artistic endeavors that represent the rich tapestry of traditions and cultural narratives inherent to Hispanic communities.

Nonprofit organizations stationed in Casa Grande with a knack for visual or performing arts are the prime candidates for this funding opportunity, in an effort to foster inclusive community engagement and a deeper understanding of Hispanic heritage. Applications should be submitted by midday on July 7, though there’s a catch: you cannot just toss your paperwork into the virtual void and hope for the best, attendance at the commission meeting on August 5 is mandatory for all hopefuls, after which decisions will be finalized and funds distributed, as per the City of Casa Grande.

Detailed information on application requirements and past sponsored projects, which might serve as a source of inspiration or a benchmark for newcomers, is readily available on the city’s website. Interested parties can download the necessary forms and closely review the guidelines at Casa Grande Arts & Culture Commission’s page. Questions about the process, eligibility, or anything else under the sun—as long as it is related to the sponsorship funding—should be directed to the Casa Grande City Clerk’s Office at 520-421-8600, as per the City of Casa Grande.

The funding is expected to serve as a catalyst for highlighting the contributions of the Hispanic and Latino communities through artistic expression, so get those creative gears turning and if representing the vibrancy and diversity of these cultures is your non-profit’s cup of tea, make sure to mark your calendars and prepare to shine a light on this important facet of Casa Grande’s cultural mosaic.
