Kolby Shae has more than a million followers who are watching her journey as a mom and business owner.

MEXIA, Texas — More than a million followers on social media are getting a front row seat to life in Mexia, Texas. Social media influencer Kolby Shae has opened a new children’s boutique called Little Magnolia Lane at the corner of Commerce Street and Paris Street in her hometown.

It’s the latest chapter in a journey that keeps getting better and better for Kolby.

“I started doing social media when I was younger. Posting videos like everyone else for fun,” said Kolby.

From humble beginnings to creating a community that is more than a million strong across Tik Tok, Instagram and Facebook, Kolby is thankful for their support.

“I got pregnant with my twins. I was a teenager and single and I found a whole community. Some were moms and grandmas. They became like a family to me,” she said.

Being a full time college student and business owner isn’t always glamorous but Kolby hopes her kids will that any dream is possible.

“I hope they know that there’s no limit. People say the sky’s the limit but it goes past that regardless of your situation. I hope they know they can do whatever. We go through these things to test us but if you go through it there’s a reward on the other side,” she said.

Opening “Little Magnolia Lane” is already a full circle moment. Her first employee has a special connection to Kolby’s story.

“Breckyn’s mom gave me my first job when I was barely 16. We’re so thankful to have her. She helps us tremendously,” said Kolby.

“She is such a hard worker,” said Employee Breckyn Waggener. “I just look up to her and she’s been able to persevere and I know I can do anything.”

The orders are pouring in both online and in-store. “They’re coming from all over to support Kolby. I think this was a much needed necessity for Mexia. It just brings in something different,” said Breckyn.

Just like online, Kolby has created a community in her store: a place for kids to play while parents get to shop and relax. All pieces of her heart and faith that every step has its purpose.

“I have it tattooed on me actually. It says “everything happens for a reason,” and I truly fully believe that. I’ve had a lot happen and I live by that. If you start living by that and take any time something bad happens as a lesson, things will get better and you grow from that.”
