Phoenix has won three out of its last four games, continuing to push for home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Their last game was an 81-72 home win over the Golden State Valkyries, with Alyssa Thomas putting up yet another triple-double, this time with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 16 assists. Monique Akoa Makani led the team in scoring with 18, with DeWanna Bonner chipping in 14 points off the bench.

The Sparks have two one-point wins over their last three games, with the most recent being an 81-80 victory over the Dallas Wings back on August 20th. Los Angeles had to fight from behind, as they trailed by seven heading to the fourth quarter. In the final frame, Kelsey Plum took over, scoring 10 of her 20 points to spoil an amazing effort from the Wings’ young star Paige Bueckers (44 points).

In their first two meetings, the Mercury came out victorious. After tonight, the teams will meet one more time, on Sep 9th in Phoenix.
