According to Eagles’ Director of Communications John Gonoude, Dallas Goedert is the first tight end to rush for a TD in NFL postseason history.
The Eagles trail the 49ers 7-6 late in the first quarter, and Dallas Goedert’s breakout season continued. The talented tight end has been healthy for the most part and made NFL history on Sunday, becoming the first tight end ever to score a rushing touchdown in the playoffs. Goedert had 60 catches during the regular season for 591 yards and 11 touchdowns while playing in 15 games.
This season, Goedert led the team with a career-high 11 receiving touchdowns – the most ever by an Eagles tight end (previously 10 by Pete Retzlaff in 1965). He tied Trey McBride for the most among tight ends in the NFL this season and finished T-2nd overall, with only Davante Adams (14) ahead of him.
