Sitting at 6-2 and atop the AFC East, the New England Patriots would appear to be potential buyers heading toward the upcoming NFL trade deadline. However, they did the opposite on Tuesday: one week before trading will be suspended by the league, they opted to part ways with a pair of former starters.
Defensive lineman Keion White was sent to the San Francisco 49ers, followed by safety Kyle Dugger moving to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both players were accompanied by seventh-round picks in 2026 and netted the team sixth-round selections in that same draft.
With those moves and some follow-up transactions — signing safety John Saunders Jr. off Miami’s practice squad and elevating running back Terrell Jennings from the practice squad — out of the way, the question now becomes whether or not the Patriots are done. There is still time before the trade window closes on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 4 p.m. ET, and the team of head coach Mike Vrabel has shown a willingness to make moves.
