Old Town Avondale will burst with color, culture, and celebration on Saturday, May 3, as the Avondale Fiesta, presented by Avondale Toyota, returns for an unforgettable evening of music, food, and community spirit.

This free, family-friendly street festival runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on historic Western Avenue (351 E Western Ave, Avondale, AZ 85323). The street will be closed to vehicle traffic from South 3rd Street to North 5th Street, and South 4th Street off Western Avenue, starting at 6 a.m. Roads will reopen at 2 a.m. on Sunday, May 4.

The Avondale Fiesta honors the vibrant traditions of Hispanic culture through a dynamic mix of art, music, and dance. Emceed by the charismatic DJ VPROLIFIC, the main stage will feature high-energy performances including Ballet Folklorico Esperanza, Banda Llegamaz, and Guitarras Latinas, presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts.

Families can also enjoy Kermes en la Biblioteca at Sam Garcia Library, complete with yard games, lotería, a photo booth, and other interactive activities. Attendees are invited to take part in dance lessons and contribute to a collaborative community art piece that captures the spirit of the event.

Get ready for some friendly competition and bold flavors during the Blind Salsa Competition, happening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Select restaurants will compete to see who truly has the best salsa on Western Avenue—but there’s a twist! All entries will be judged blind, ensuring the tastiest salsa wins based on flavor alone. Come cast your vote and see who takes home the salsa crown!

Indulge in authentic Mexican cuisine from beloved restaurants along Western Avenue or savor offerings from local food trucks. Visit the lively Cantina for a wide variety of drinks and eats—with a portion of proceeds benefiting Ballet Folklorico Esperanza, supporting their mission to preserve Mexican culture through dance.

Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis along nearby residential and side streets. Please be respectful of residents—do not block driveways, sidewalks, or business access, and avoid impeding traffic.

Old Town Avondale has long served as a cherished gathering place, and the 2025 Avondale Fiesta continues this legacy with an evening full of joy, unity, and cultural pride. The event is hosted by the City of Avondale Parks & Recreation Department and proudly sponsored by Avondale Toyota, with support from O’Reilly Auto Parts, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, APS, Wyyerd, Renewal by Andersen, and community partners including Ballet Folklorico Esperanza and the Academy of Math and Science.
