Barro Fest Will Return For Second Year To Celebrate Hispanic Culture, Arts

PLAINFIELD, IL — Barro Fest will return to downtown Plainfield for the second annual year to celebrate Hispanic arts and culture.

A variety of artisan sellers, live music and performances and food are on the docket for the event, planned from 1-2 p.m. Aug. 2 at Settlers’ Park.

The inaugural Barro Fest took place in July 2024 as a “coming of age,” in a way, for Plainfield’s Hispanic community, Mayor John Argoudelis told Patch at the time.

Here’s a look at the schedule for this year’s event:

  • 1-2 p.m. DJ
  • 2-2:30 p.m. Welcome featuring special guests
  • 2-4 p.m. Kids Art Casita featuring pottery painting
  • 2:30-3 p.m. Mexico En La Sangre, a folkloric dance
  • 3-4 p.m. Mariachi Michoacana
  • 4-5 p.m. Rock band Zeus
  • 5-5:30 p.m. Celia Gallegos performing “La Voz Bravia”
  • 5:30-6 p.m. Ballet Folklorico Infinity
  • 6-7 p.m. Cuarto Impulso performing Sierreno music
  • 7-8 p.m. Guitar duo Los Ramirez Brothers
  • 8-8:30 p.m. Alexandra Salgado
  • 8:30-9:30 p.m. Selfie photos and dancing
  • 9-10 p.m. DJ
