BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Founder of the Buffalo Latino Village Alberto Cappas held a lecture at Canisius University Monday where he spoke out about recent events surrounding ICE.
Since its establishment in 2017, the publication has served as a progressive voice for Western New York’s Hispanic community. During the lecture, Cappas spoke strongly about the adversity the community has faced across the nation, as well as in Buffalo.
“It’s very important because we need to show the City of Buffalo that there is a Latino platform,” Cappas said. “We need that visibility.”

According to the Village, the goal of Monday’s lecture was to help the Hispanic community remain resilient, as ICE activity in spaces close to home continues to unfold.
