Stephanie Wiott needed more space for her growing business.
That necessitated Stephanie Wiott Designs, a full-service interior design firm, to move from Carmel’s Indiana Design Center to a newly renovated studio at 30 1st Street SW in Carmel.
Wiott said she now has an additional 1,000 square feet.
“The new location is amazing,” she said. “It’s a great building.”
Wiott moved from the Chicago area to Carmel in 2018. She owned a business in Chicago that focused on remodeling projects.
“We did lots of kitchen remodels, basements, bathrooms and things like that,” she said. “Here, because there’s so much new construction, we turned it into a full-service firm.”
Wiott has built a national profile over the past two years, including recognition in Homes & Gardens, Martha Stewart Living and Forbes Home.
The firm won two national awards from interior design-architecture magazines, being named to House Beautiful’s Next Wave of Designers and recognized as a Rising Star by Traditional Home.
“We’re getting a lot more (requests) from out of state, so we’re navigating that right now and trying to figure out how best to make that work,” Wiott said. “We are constantly growing, changing and evolving in our firm on how to make things better and add services.”
Wiott became familiar with the area approximately a decade ago when she worked with clients in Carmel, Zionsville and north Indianapolis.
“I really liked the area,” she said. “When my son was getting ready to select colleges, he picked Indiana University. So, my son was going to be a freshman in college and my daughter was starting kindergarten, so it was a really good time to make the transition.”
The new space took some time to shape up. Wiott Designs left the Indiana Design Center in July 2025.
“It was a building that was an eye doctor’s office,” she said. “We had to completely gut and remodel it. It took about a year before we had our grand opening (Sept. 24).”
