DALLAS — The situation is bleak for the Dallas Mavericks. They trail the Boston Celtics 3-0 in the NBA Finals, and no team in NBA history has come back from a 3-0 deficit and won the series in 156 previous attempts.
“You talk about playing Game 4. That’s it,” Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said, adding, “Again, just taking one possession at a time, controlling what you can control, your effort and energy, and just winning the minutes when you’re out there. That’s all we’ve talked about (Thursday), and that’s what we’ll talk about (Friday).
There have been nine sweeps in Finals history, Golden State over Cleveland in 2018 being the most recent, and 14 previous times when a team took a 3-0 lead in the Finals.
