April 1, 2026 ― DENTON ―The Center for Women Entrepreneurs (CWE) at Texas Woman’s University has selected five women veterans to receive $5,000 awards through its Veteran Entrepreneur Grant program, supporting business growth across Texas.

The latest winners are as follows:

Grant funds support strategic business investments, including marketing, inventory, equipment and technology.

Awardees will complete a targeted training series covering business planning, marketing, and legal and financial fundamentals, along with a business plan and three years of cash flow projections.

Now in its sixth year, the program continues to draw applicants from across Texas.

“Veteran women bring proven leadership and the ability to execute when it counts,” said Tracy Irby, director of the Center for Women Entrepreneurs. “This program helps turn that into sustainable growth with the right structure and capital.”

“The grant is the starting point. What matters is how they build from it,” Irby added.

The Center for Women Entrepreneurs at Texas Woman’s University is a program within the Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership. The JNIWL is dedicated to preparing women to take on successful roles in business and public service.
