Check out 5 of the latest openings in Bastrop County, including a Brazilian steakhouse, a thrift store funding job support services, and more business updates.
1. Aspen Dental
The national dental practice offers a variety of oral health services, ranging from dental hygiene and emergency care to oral surgery, implants and more. Aspen Dental also offers an in-house clear aligner called Motto that officials said is half the price of other brands.
2. BISD Facilities Support & Police Administration Building
The 55,000-square-foot building supports administrative and operational functions for the Bastrop ISD Police Department while also housing maintenance, custodial, groundskeeping, warehouse and print shop operations. Construction on the project was funded through the district’s $321.5 million bond package approved by voters in 2023.
3. Espadas De Brazil Bar & Brazilian Steakhouse
Owner Robinson Figueiredo offers a Brazilian rodízio, or all-you-can-eat, experience in the former Stem & Stone space—which closed late last year. The churrasco, a Brazilian barbecue style, features large cuts of meat seasoned with coarse salt, cooked over an open flame on metal skewers and served tableside. Espadas de Brazil’s food truck at Boring Bodega is now closed; however, the truck remains open for catering services. Reservations are encouraged and can be booked on OpenTable.
4. Healing Hands Community Thrift Store
Operated by the Methodist Healthcare Ministries, proceeds from the resale shop fund job support services, including workplace English classes, employment-related necessities such as tools and clothing, and emergency assistance such as utility support after job loss.
Co-founders Liana and Matt Walker, along with six other real estate agents, offer a holistic approach to investing in a home. The Walkers said that means providing educational resources on home improvement, networking opportunities and other tools to help clients make informed decisions.
