TULSA — Cherokee Nation Businesses announced that Mark Fulton, president of its hospitality company, Cherokee Nation Entertainment, will retire March 14, 2027, following two decades with the organization.

Fulton joined Cherokee Nation Businesses in 2007 and held several leadership roles within its gaming operations. During his time with CNE, the company made significant investments in its properties and expanded beyond Oklahoma into commercial gaming. CNE’s operations generate revenue that supports critical Cherokee Nation programs and services.

Cherokee Nation Entertainment now employs more than 4,000 people and operates 11 locations, with a portfolio that includes Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa, Gold Strike Casino Resort and Cherokee Casinos.

“We’re grateful for Mark’s 20 years of service and the many important contributions he has made to CNE,” said Chuck Garrett, chief executive officer of Cherokee Nation Businesses. “CNE is in a strong position today, with an experienced team, considerable momentum across our operations and significant opportunities ahead. As the gaming and hospitality landscape continues to evolve, selecting the right leader to build on that foundation will be important to CNE’s continued success.”

Cherokee Nation Businesses will conduct a national search for CNE’s next president, with qualified internal candidates receiving consideration.

“These past 20 years have been the most rewarding of my professional career,” said Fulton. “I’m grateful to the Cherokee Nation Administration, CNB Board of Directors, Chuck Garrett and our leadership teams for their trust and support. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together and grateful to the CNE employees who made it possible. I have tremendous confidence in this team and CNE’s future.”
