Cal State Fullerton is ranked as the No. 3 university in the U.S. for its total number of bachelor’s degrees earned by Hispanic/Latino students, according to Hispanic Outlook on Education’s 2025 “Top 100 Colleges and Universities for Hispanics” list. CSUF moved up one spot from the previous year’s No. 4 ranking among four-year schools.

Hispanic Outlook said that 4,681 — or nearly 50% — of the 9,421 total CSUF graduates who earned a bachelor’s degree in 2023-24 identified as Hispanic/Latino.

CSUF offers more than 100 degree programs and enrolled more than 45,000 students in fall 2025. As of fall 2025, the university serves a 56.3% Hispanic/Latino student population.

Hispanic Outlook also ranked CSUF at No. 15 in the nation for its total enrollment of Hispanic/Latino students among four-year schools. The publication ranked CSUF No. 33 in the nation for its total of master’s degrees earned by Hispanic/Latino students. Out of the 1,693 total CSUF graduates who earned a master’s degree in 2023-24, the university had 515 — or more than 30% — who identified as Hispanic/Latino.

CSUF was designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution in 2004 for enrolling over 25% Hispanic/Latino students. Excelencia in Education, a nonprofit and national authority on Hispanic/Latino student success, awarded the university its prestigious Seal of Excelencia in 2021. The nonprofit has since recertified CSUF’s seal through 2027.

In awarding degrees to Hispanic/Latino students by specific areas of study, Hispanic Outlook ranked CSUF:

  • No. 2 in communication and journalism
  • No. 5 in education
  • No. 6 in visual and performing arts
  • No. 6 in business management and marketing
  • No. 10 in foreign languages, literature and linguistics

Hispanic Outlook’s lists are based on the latest data from the National Center for Education Statistics’ Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, or IPEDS.
