It’s been about a year since dirt started flying on Henderson Avenue in a massive overhaul of a popular East Dallas corridor. Now, the first of four office buildings under development for Henderson East is going vertical — and with that comes with news of a new dining concept.

Romy, located at 2050 N Henderson Ave., is expected to open in December 2026. It’s the brainchild of Tristan Simon, part of the development team on Henderson East, and his longtime business partner, Taryn Anderson, along with Billy Can Can chef Matt Ford.

The restaurant will be open all day, functioning as a bakery-café by day and a modern American restaurant by night. It will be on the ground floor of a three-story office building and provide food and beverage service to office tenants.

Romy at Henderson East will feature extensive outdoor seating.

“Henderson East will function less like an office building and more like a private club with a palpable sense of community and high-end hotel-quality amenities,” Simon said in a prepared statement. “Romy’s role is to make coming to the office a joy and a source of pride.”

Simon, along with Mark Masinter, leads Dallas development firm Ignite-Rebees, which is building Henderson East with Acadia Realty Trust, a New York-based property company. The vision for Henderson East is a walkable, mixed-use corridor offering office space, retail and dining across 10 architecturally distinct structures. Balfour Beatty is leading construction. Henderson East is expected to be completed in November 2026.
