“This conference is a unique opportunity to highlight the incredible contributions of Hispanic mental health professionals and to foster a sense of empowerment among attendees,” said Dr. Leti Cavazos, founder of the Cannenta Foundation. “We are committed to providing an enriching experience that not only informs but also inspires.”

The event will include a diverse lineup of speakers, interactive breakout series, networking opportunities and agency exhibits. Post-discussion book signings are hosted by each speaker, for either health professionals , community leaders or advocates for mental well-being.

This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Julissa Arce Raya, Mexican-American author, speaker, immigration rights advocate, and co-founder of the Ascend Educational Fund.

The Cannenta Foundation’s mission targets financial and language barriers, striving for care within underserved communities.

Data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration indicates that 22% of Hispanics/Latinos face mental health challenges, with 5% experiencing severe conditions. Yet, only 36% of this population receives mental health services compared to their white counterparts at 52%.
