The association is promoting Día de los Muertos, a Latin American tradition commonly known as Day of the Dead, that celebrates the deceased. Local students have the opportunity to exhibit their artwork and earn awards.
The organization behind the exhibit, the Hispanic Professionals Association of Tyler, aims to give back to the Tyler community through community service, volunteering, education, culture, and leadership development.
“We really feel very proud of what we’re doing, and what we’re doing to promote Hispanic culture and education coming together,” Jesus Flores, President of the Hispanic Professionals Association of Tyler, said. “This really opens the door even for non-Hispanic students to enrich themselves in Hispanic culture.”
