In perhaps a bit of gamesmanship, the Dolphins have elevated former Raiders top pick EDGE Clelin Ferrell for their week one matchup.
Ferrell was the Raiders pick at four overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. He was considered a reach at the time and after a disappointing four seasons in Silver & Black, in which he had a combined ten sacks, he was not re-signed.
Since then Ferrell has bounced around the NFL, spending time with the San Francisco 49ers, Washington Commanders, and Los Angeles Chargers.
The eighth year pro spent the offseason in Miami and was among the team’s cuts at the deadline and brought back onto the practice squad. He now gets the call against the team that drafted him to take the field where he played for three years.
Ferrell has appears in 98 career games with 57 starts and has 21 combined sacks. He had four sacks last season splitting time between Washington and Los Angeles.
