The Miami Dolphins have already moved on from their head coach, general manager and several top players from 2025, but the team isn’t done making changes ahead of the 2026 season.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Dolphins are releasing fullback Alec Ingold.
Ingold, 29, played collegiately at Wisconsin and spent his first three seasons in the NFL with the Las Vegas Raiders before signing with the Dolphins in 2022 when he was coming off of a torn ACL.
Over the last four years, Ingold played in 66 games for Miami, catching 47 passes for 372 yards and a touchdown while rushing for an additional 34 yards and two scores. He earned Pro Bowl honors once and was named a Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee thrice.
According to Over the Cap, the Dolphins will save $3.06 million in cap space, which is important, considering that the team will have to take on a huge dead cap hit when they move on from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
