In his latest seven-round NFL mock draft, ESPN’s Jordan Reid has the Denver Broncos using their first-round pick to select North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton at No. 20.
“Setting up infrastructure to maximize quarterback Bo Nix’s production needs to be the main priority for Broncos coach Sean Payton,” Reid wrote on ESPN.com. “Evan Engram helps at tight end, but a three-down back would unlock another dimension of this offense.”
After that, Denver adds another weapon for Nix in the second round by selecting Iowa State wide receiver Jayden Higgins at pick No. 51.
“Higgins makes tough catches look routine,” Reid wrote on ESPN.com. “His 20 contested catches last season were the sixth most in the FBS.”
Reid then has the Broncos adding South Carolina linebacker Demetrius Knight in the third round (No. 85) and Texas defensive lineman Vernon Broughton in the fourth round (No. 122). View all seven of his picks for Denver below.
