Rev. Bolívar Flores, a prominent Jersey City pastor and Latino community leader, has been appointed chief operating officer of the Sunrise Group of Companies, an integrated healthcare organization specializing in behavioral health services.

Flores joins Sunrise after more than eleven years with the New Jersey Reentry Corporation, where he held senior executive positions, including chief of staff.  As COO, he will oversee the strategic and operational management of the organization’s clinical laboratory, medication-assisted treatment programs, outpatient psychiatric services, behavioral health programs and supportive housing initiatives.

“I firmly believe that behavioral healthcare represents one of the greatest challenges — and one of the greatest opportunities — to transform lives and strengthen our communities,” Flores said. “I accept this responsibility with a profound sense of purpose, convinced that clinical excellence, innovation and compassion must work together to deliver hope and measurable outcomes for those we serve.”

An immigrant from the Dominican Republic, Flores is the senior pastor of Ministerio El Sol Sale Para Todos Internacional in Jersey City.  He has also served as vice president of the New Jersey Coalition of Latino Pastors and Ministers, which represents approximately 400 churches.

Flores gained statewide political visibility during the 2024 presidential election when he was selected as New Jersey’s representative on the Latino Victory National Committee.  The national Latino organization, which endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, tapped Flores to help lead get-out-the-vote efforts among New Jersey’s faith-based communities.
