Montrezl Harrell made a tryout appearance and participated with the Houston Rockets’ G League team, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, last weekend.
Harrell returned to where his NBA career started and hopes that it will also open the door for another opportunity to return to the Association.

Montrezl Harrell is pushing for an NBA comeback as a current free agent.
The 32-year-old big man last played in the NBA back in 2022-23 as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. He was a star backup from 2017 to 2020 with the Los Angeles Clippers, winning the Sixth Man of the Year during his final year with the franchise.
He also played for the Los Angeles Lakers (2020-21), Washington Wizards, and the Charlotte Hornets (2021-22).
In recent years, Harrell pursued overseas play, suiting up in Australia, China, and Puerto Rico. He recently capped off his dominant run for the BIG3 League as a member of the 3s Company.
Throughout his 11-year NBA career, Harrell has averaged 12.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game across 515 regular-season appearances. Despite being an undersized big, he established himself as a highly aggressive frontcourt unit.
With one month remaining before the season opener, Harrell couldn’t be more determined to explore every option that could help him return to the NBA hardwood.
