Hot, muggy days before remnants of Beryl arrive in Massachusetts

A LOT ON WHERE THAT TRACK IS GOING TO BE. AS OF RIGHT NOW. YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENS, IT LOSES A LOT OF ITS TROPICAL CHARACTERISTICS BY THURSDAY MORNING. BUT AT THAT POINT, IT’S JUST A BIG WET SPONGE COMING IN HERE. AND RIGHT NOW IT LOOKS LIKE NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND MAY BE THE SPOT TO GET ALL THE HEAVY RAIN. WE’RE GOING TO KEEP A CHANCE OF SOME RAIN IN OUR FORECAST JUST BECAUSE IT’S SO CLOSE AND BECAUSE THIS CAN SHIFT ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. JUST A LITTLE BIT. AND SO WE’LL KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THAT ONE. BUT AS OF RIGHT NOW, I THINK MOST OF THEIR HEAVY RAIN IS GOING TO BE ACROSS NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND. IT’S ALL JUST RIDING RIGHT, RIGHT UP ALONG THIS JET STREAM. AND OF COURSE WE’RE ON THE HOT SIDE OF THAT. THAT BIG BUBBLE OF WARM AIR RIGHT OVER THE TOP. SO THE CHANCES FOR HEAVIEST RAIN ARE REALLY UP HERE TO THE NORTH MORE THAN ANYTHING. BUT YOU CAN SEE AS YOU GET CLOSER TO BOSTON, THERE’S STILL A LOW RISK OF IT. AND THAT’S WHY WE’LL KEEP AN EYE ON THAT AS WE HEAD FOR WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. ALL RIGHT. LET’S LOOK AT LOGAN AIRPORT RIGHT NOW. IT’S ONLY 79 DEGREES. THE HUMIDITY IS SKY HIGH. THAT’S A GUARANTEE OUT THERE. SO THE HEAT INDEX IS NOT BAD. THAT’S IF YOU ARE AT LOGAN AIRPORT. NOW LET’S GO OUT TO WORCESTER BLUE SKY FEW FAIR WEATHER CLOUDS OUT THERE. AND THE TEMPERATURES 88 DEGREES. THE HUMIDITY IS ACTUALLY A LITTLE BIT LOWER AWAY FROM THE OCEAN, BUT ALSO AWAY FROM THE SEA BREEZE, WHICH IS WHY IT’S WARMER INLAND THAN WHAT IT IS AT THE COAST. SO HIGH TEMPERATURES TODAY ARE GOING TO GO DOWN THE RECORD BOOKS AS BOSTON ONLY 83 DEGREES. BUT UNLESS YOU LIVE AT LOGAN AIRPORT, THAT’S THE ONLY PLACE IT WAS THAT COOL. THAT AND TOWARD THE CAPE AND ALONG THE COAST. BECAUSE INLAND TEMPERATURES TODAY CLIMBED NICELY INTO THE 90S, 94 DEGREES, THE HIGH IN NORWOOD NEW BEDFORD COMING IN AT 93. THERE’S SOME HOT STUFF OUT THERE, BUT AS WE MENTIONED, IT’S NOT JUST THE HEAT, IT’S THE HUMIDITY. AND OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS, HUMIDITY IS NOT GOING TO BE GOING DOWN. IT’S GOING TO BE A VERY MUGGY NIGHT FOR SLEEPING ONCE AGAIN. IN FACT, OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS, YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENS. THE HUMIDITY ACTUALLY RAMPS UP A LITTLE BIT FOR WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY AS THE REMNANTS OF BERYL COME BY. MAY DROP OFF A LITTLE BIT ON FRIDAY, BUT EVEN ON FRIDAY, WE’RE STILL IN WHAT WE WOULD CALL KIND OF THAT TROPICAL RANGE. SO IT IS GOING TO BE A VERY MUGGY FORECAST. SO WE’RE TALKING ABOUT ALL RIGHT. LET ME BREAK IT DOWN FOR YOU AND SHOW YOU WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. TOMORROW THERE IS A CHANCE OF SOME SPOT SHOWERS, MAINLY NORTH AND WEST OF THE CITY. ANOTHER DAY OF 90 DEGREE HEAT WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY IS WHEN BERYL MAKES ITS CLOSEST APPROACH TO US. WE COULD SEE SOME SHOWERS OUT OF IT. WE MAY ACTUALLY JUST BE STARING AT SOME SUNSHINE TOO. WHILE NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND REALLY GETS THE HEAVY RAIN OUT OF IT. BUT AGAIN, IT’S A CLOSE CALL, SO KEEP AN EYE ON THAT FORECAST. FRIDAY. A CHANCE OF SOME STORMS OUT THERE, BUT OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS, I THINK THE BEST CHANCE FOR RAIN RIGHT NOW LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE ON SATURDAY WITH SOME SHOWERS AND SOME THUNDERSTORMS BACK IN THE FORECAST. BUT LOOK AT THOSE NUMBERS. NOTHING TERRIBLY COOL. AND THE H
