Joey, the Canadian restaurant that offers upscale dining with friendly hospitality, is coming to Phoenix.
The Phoenix Business Journal reports that Joey is looking to turn an office space at 3021 E Camelback Road near 32nd Street into a restaurant. The City of Phoenix Planning & Development Department has received a site plan that confirms the proposal to, “remove outdated and underutilized 1980’s era office space from the Camelback corridor”, and to, “reimagine the visual appearance of the structure to improve its appearance”.
The proposal adds that each Joey location is, “custom built to elevate its surroundings, often from the ground up, and no two restaurants are ever the same”. The plans for Joey Biltmore calls for a Midcentury Modern design featuring, “clean lines, contemporary colors, significant amounts of glazing, and an emphasis on high-quality materials”. The plan will also retain a 5,000 square foot office, used for banking purposes. Construction has not yet started, and there is no proposed opening date.
Joey operates 35 restaurants in Canada and the U.S., and is a privately-owned company led by CEO Jeff Fuller. The restaurant serves modern, globally-inspired cuisine ranging from fresh sushi and steaks to Chilean seabass and lobster spaghetti. Lighter fare includes salads and bowls. The restaurant pairs its food with curated cocktails, wine, and a menu of low- and zero-proof drinks.
