Every year, former President Barack Obama releases a list of his favorite songs. This year, a song by Latino artists made the list.

“En Privado,” a soft bachata and Mexican regional music mix by Xavi & Manuel Turizo, was featured in Obama’s favorite music.

The song hit the charts in several countries, reaching #14 in Mexico and #107 in Colombia. It also reached a peak position of #131 on the Spotify Global Chart.

Manuel Turizo Zapata was born in Montería, Colombia, while Joshua Xavier Gutierrez Alonso, known professionally as Xavi, was born in Phoenix, Arizona and has Mexican parents.

Xavi’s music became popular in 2023 through his singles “La Víctima” and “La Diabla”.

Turizo’s first chart-topping song was “Una Lady Como Tú.” He reached higher fame with “La Bachata.” He has also collaborated with Becky G with “QUE HACES.”

Spanish artist Rosalía also made Obama’s list with “Sexo, Violencia y Llantas.”
