JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Latina business owners in Jacksonville are joining forces to create new opportunities through a recently launched networking initiative, the Latina CEO Club, which held its inaugural meeting at TikiJava Jax during Hispanic Heritage Month.

“Latina business owners are missing social capital. Your network is your networth,” said Alejandra Amegin, co-founder of the Latina CEO Club. The organization aims to expand nationwide from its Jacksonville launch.

The club builds on Jacksonville’s growing reputation as a hub for Hispanic entrepreneurs. The city ranks 15th among the best cities for Hispanic entrepreneurs nationwide, according to a recent WalletHub study.

Founded on three core pillars – support and community, education, and resources – the club sought to challenge stereotypes while fostering business growth.

“We’re not just house cleaners. We’re not just caretakers,” Amegin said. “If you look across the board here, we’re covering all industries.”

For entrepreneurs like Claudia Maya, CEO and founder of Uniquely Claudia Boutique in St. Johns County, the club offers a much-needed support system. Maya emphasized the importance of connecting with other business owners who understand the challenges of entrepreneurship.

“I think it’s super important to be around people, surround yourself with people that are going through the same struggles, also success, like applaud their success,” Maya said.

The Latina CEO Club welcomes new members and can be found on Instagram @latinaceoclub.

The initiative launched as part of Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, running from September 15 to October 15.
