Major League Baseball knows there’s no one medium or narrative that tells the story of its Latino superstars, which is why it’s pitching a bunch of different looks at fans as part of its “El Béisbol Es Otra Cosa” series.

Continuing the ongoing work of El Béisbol Es Otra Cosa (“Baseball Is Something Else”) launched in 2024 to share the stories of Latine players, entertainers, artists, influencers, and leaders, MLB created three new multimedia spots featuring the New York Mets’ Francisco Lindor, the San Diego Padres’ Fernando Tatis Jr., and the Atlanta Braves’ Ronald Acuña Jr. Narrated by Grammy, Emmy, Tony, and Pulitzer Prize-winning dramatic multihyphenate Lin-Manuel Miranda, the spots will run in the United States and Latin American countries before culminating in a Mexico-centric ad offering tribute to former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Fernando Valenzuela.

According to the annual Luker Fan Research Survey, 62% of Hispanic people 12 years of age and older in the United States identify as MLB fans. Made with help from multicultural creative agency Remezcla, the spots address audiences in a blend of Spanish and English—with visitors entering a gallery and looking at miniature displays created by Puerto Rican artist Danny Cortés that represent moments from each player’s life.

Ronald Acuña Jr.

Venezuelan musician Beto Montenegro looks in on the Acuña family living room in La Sabana, Venezuela, and Ronald and his older brother—New York Mets infielder Luisangel Acuña—played video games and stoked a competitive spirit that led from the “Land of Ballplayers” to membership in the 40-40 club (40 home runs, 40 stolen bases) and a National League MVP award.
