Francisco Lindor

Salsa legend Gilberto Santa Rosa steps in to look at Lindor’s journey from Caguas, Puerto Rico—where the rumba beat and tin tin of the plena pulsing through the stands of local ballparks fueled el corazon Taino. It’s the origin story of the passion and optimism that gave Lindor the name “Mr. Smile.”

Fernando Tatis Jr.

As Dominican-born influencer Jess Judith observed, Tatis was surrounded by baseball from birth. His home—San Pedro de Macorís in the Dominican Republic—has sent more than 90 players to the major leagues. His father, the original Fernando Tatis, spent 11 seasons in the major leagues and took young Fernando—soon to be El Niño—into the clubhouse to learn from other pros. In his museum diorama, a bat hangs over his crib like a mobile.

In September, MLB places the spotlight on Etchohuaquila, Sonora’s own Fernando Valenzuela—the young pitcher whose “Fernandomania” run with the Los Angeles Dodgers is still viewed as inspiration by current Mexican-born players Alejandro Kirk, Andrés Muñoz, Isaac Paredes, and Luis Urías—all of whom will appear in his spot. Narrated by Mexican singer Melissa Robles, the ad will appear on ESPN México and Imagen, across MLB Mexico social media channels, in Cinemex multiplexes, and streaming on Amazon Prime Ads.

The Acuña, Lindor, and Tatis spots will appear on MLB Network, MLB.com, and MLB.TV, as well as MLB broadcast partners including FOX, FS1, ESPN, TBS, ESPN Deportes, FOX Deportes, Univision, Apple TV+, and other paid digital media sites. The social series will live across MLB social media platforms and influencer-owned channels.

Major League Baseball and Wieden+Kennedy give fans opening day anime with help from Passion Pictures and Echelle Studios.
