What time is the first day of championships?

The 2026 DI Indoor championships will begin at 1 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. ET on Day 1 of competition on June 10. The all-day affair will continue from the afternoon combined events to the night-ending relays at 8:36 p.m. PT / 11:36 p.m. ET . It’s a long day ahead, but we’ll have coverage for it all, so bookmark this page NOW.

Where are the championships?

The 2026 DI outdoor championships are in Eugene, Oregon at Hayward Field, home of the Oregon Ducks. Here are some fast facts about the arena:

  • Hayward Field has hosted the last three DI outdoor championships and four of the last five since renovations were completed.
  • The 1978 movie Animal House was shot in Eugene and the old Hayward Field can be seen in the background.

Underrated storylines

  • How will the decathlon shake out?
    • The last three combined event titles have been won by Peyton Bair, who redshirted this outdoor season. Before that, we same some all-time performances from the trio of Kyle Garland, Ayden Owens-Delerme and Leo Neugebauer. With the first five decathlon events taking place today, we could see a wide-open race for the title
  • Will we see any collegiate records today?
    • We’ve seen three men’s outdoor collegiate records so far this season. At indoor championships we saw five collegiate records fall on the men’s side. How many will fall in Eugene?
  • How many advancements will Auburn get in the 100 meters?
    • Auburn has five men qualified in the 100 meters. The Tigers don’t have a lot of events with athletes, dominated by the sprints. After a second-place finish in 2024 and a fourth-place in 2025, Auburn could change its fortunes with a lot of qualifiers in just one event.
  • Will the Oregon men defend its home track?
    • Oregon has 15 men’s entries in the championships, but zero in the sprints. Will that be enough to win it all for the first time since 2015?
  • Can anyone stop Arkansas?
    • SEC championship sweep? Check. NCAA indoor title? Check. It’s not Wendy’s but Arkansas could go 4-for-4 with an outdoor title win. With 21 entries and favorites in the 200 meters, 800 meters and more, first-year head coach Doug Case could end his first year on top.

Who’s taking home hardware Day 1?

The beginning of a championship track meet is always a great mix of prelims and finals.  Here are the championship finals for Wednesday’s competition:
