UTAH COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — What if your next fortune cookie didn’t just predict your future… but was written just for you?

To celebrate National Fortune Cookie Day, ABC4 welcomed Rufus, better known as “The Fortune Cookie Guy,” from Tankinz to the studio. While fortune cookies are a classic way to end a takeout meal, Rufus has turned them into something much more personal.

From weddings and birthday parties to corporate events, thank-you gifts, and baby showers, Tankinz creates fresh, made-to-order fortune cookies with your own custom messages inside. Whether you need six cookies or 10,000, every order can be personalized with messages up to 20 words each and is shipped in less than a week.

How to make ABC4 your preferred news source on Google

During our live segment, Rufus even surprised the ABC4 Good Morning Utah team with personalized fortunes.

Meteorologist Cedric Haynes opened his cookie to read:

“YOUR FORECAST SHOWS HIGH PRESSURE TO HIT THE GYM AND BOOK THAT FLIGHT… FOLLOWED BY A LIGHT CARRY-ON.”

Traffic anchor Kailey Ann received:

“KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD, BUT YOUR HEART OPEN TO THE COWBOY WHO KEEPS ASKING FOR THE NEXT DANCE.”

And morning anchor Alyssa Royster was shocked to learn:

“THERE ARE TRIPLETS IN YOUR NEAR FUTURE.”

Beyond the laughs, Tankinz prides itself on quality. Every fortune cookie is made with locally sourced ingredients, contains no preservatives, and is 100% vegan. Even the flour comes from Big J Mill in Brigham City, Utah, supporting another local business.

The company also has something exciting on the horizon. After spending the past year preparing the space, Tankinz will soon open a retail storefront at its factory where customers can sample products, shop in person, and learn more about the fortune cookie-making process.
