Los Angeles is getting a second cruise terminal in San Pedro, with a rendering shows a circular facility with two ships docked, a rooftop park and waterfront pedestrian access.
While the existing cruise terminal is near central San Pedro, the new Outer Harbor Cruise Terminal will sit further south at the end of a peninsula down the harbor. The Port of Los Angeles told potential developers in 2024 that it intends to “accommodate the largest ships presently serving the West Coast market.”
A video of the terminal shows plans for floor-to-ceiling windows, concrete wall textures and an indoor bridge crossing over the waterfront park area.
The port will also redevelop the city’s existing two-berth cruise terminal, though it did not publish renderings.
Carrix and JLC Infrastructure will be the developers for both facilities.
The project “will allow us to capture more of the rapidly growing cruise business, while also establishing Los Angeles as the primary West Coast gateway for cruise operations,” said Port of Los Angeles executive director Gene Seroka.
Los Angeles set a port record in 2025 when it handled 1.6 million passengers.
