MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. (WSVN) – A 10-year-old girl riding an e-bike that was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Florida died Thursday.
The crash happened Wednesday night in Miami-Dade County near Northwest 117th Street and Northwest 7th Avenue.
A boy riding with the girl is in critical condition.
Witnesses said the driver, who was making a left turn when the children were hit, stopped a short distance away, looked at the unresponsive children in the street, then fled the scene.
“I can only imagine how the parents feel in this situation. So, we urge the community, please, if you’re a business owner in this area and you happen to have cameras, please review your cameras. If you were here by chance to witness what occurred, please give us a call,” Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Daniel Castillo said.
Police are still looking for the driver of the vehicle that hit the children.
