MMA Regional Pick of the Week: Oktagon 93
Oktagon Featherweight Fight: Radek Roušal vs Jonas Mågård
Card Start Time: Saturday (9/12), 12:00pm EST (Oktagon TV)
Oktagon had to throw together a make-shift main event for Oktagon 93. Originally slated for a title fight between champion Kaik Brito and Amiran Gogoladze, the card had to do some shuffling when Brito departed for the UFC. They settled on a former bantamweight champion in Mågård, who is trying to find some of that old glory at featherweight.
Mågård reached the top of that mountain with two clear outliers in his skillset. He has the ability to put pace on people and has suffocating wrestling. Both of those things can wear an opponent down and equalize any issue he might have in the striking.
I expect that to be the case here as Roušal loves to swing. He tends to like to be on the front foot and wants to bite down on the mouthpiece. It’ll be hard to execute that against Mågård without getting taken down. And for that reason, I expect the Dane to control the action and cash for us here.
