WASHINGTON(AP) — Naji Marshall scored a season-high 30 points, P.J. Washington Jr. had eight key points in the final five minutes and the Dallas Mavericks beat the Washington Wizards 111-105 on Saturday night.
The Mavericks (3-7) snapped a four-game losing streak and won for the first time this season on the road.
Washington lost its eighth straight and fell to 1-9. CJ McCollum scored 25 points, but had just two after halftime. Cam Whitmore had a season-high 19 points.
The Wizards’ only win of the season came on Oct. 24 when they beat Dallas 117-107. Washington is 0-5 at home.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Tyrese Maxey scored 31 points, Joel Embiid added 29 and Philadelphia beat Toronto.
Trendon Watford had 20 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists for Philadelphia, which lost all four games to Toronto last season.
RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley each scored 22 points for the Raptors, who had won four in a row. Toronto was playing the second contest of a back-to-back after beating Atlanta 109-97 on Friday night. Brandon Ingram chipped in 21 for the Raptors.
ATLANTA (AP) — Mouhamed Gueye scored a career-high 21 points, Dyson Daniels had 10 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds, and the banged-up Atlanta Hawks beat the Los Angeles Lakers 122-102 on Saturday night to even their record at 5-5.
The Hawks led by 30 points despite playing without three of their five starters. All-Star Trae Young is sidelined with an MCL sprain. Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Nikola Durisic, Jalen Johnson and Kristaps Porzingis (rest) were also inactive.
Yet Atlanta led 37-20 after one quarter behind 11 points from Gueye, who made his second start of the season and also had seven rebounds and seven assists.
Daniels notched his 10th assist of the night and solidified a double-double just over four minutes into the third quarter. He also had a steal in his 62nd consecutive game, establishing a club record.
Atlanta held Lakers star Luka Doncic, averaging 40 points this season, to 17 points. He also had 11 assists, five rebounds and was 4 for 6 from the free throw line. Doncic was done for the night halfway through the third quarter.

MIAMI (AP) — Nikola Jovic scored a career-high 29 points off the bench and finished with nine rebounds and seven assists as Miami edged Portland.
Norman Powell scored 22 points for Miami, which got 16 points from Pelle Larsson, 15 from Andrew Wiggins and a 14-point, 12-rebound, seven-assist effort from Jaime Jaquez Jr. Kel’el Ware added 12 rebounds for the Heat.
Jovic’s previous career-best was 24 points.
Deni Avdija — now averaging 25.3 points so far this season — scored 33 points for Portland, which was playing the first game of a five-game trip. The Trail Blazers got 21 points from Shaedon Sharpe, plus 18 apiece from Jrue Holiday and Jerami Grant.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — De’Aaron Fox scored 24 points in his season debut, Victor Wembanyama added 18 points and 18 rebounds, and San Antonio beat New Orleans.
Stephon Castle added 14 points and 14 assists as San Antonio won its second straight after two straight losses following a franchise-best 5-0 start.
Trey Murphy III scored 41 points on 15-for-22 shooting for the Pelicans. Murphy was 5 for 11 on 3-pointers, including a high-arcing 31-footer at the close of the third quarter to stun the sellout crowd.
Fox and Wembanyama played together for just the sixth time since San Antonio acquired the speedy point guard from Sacramento on Feb. 5 as part of a three-team trade with Chicago.
Donovan Mitchell scored eight straight points in 65 seconds, including the go-ahead basket with 34 seconds remaining, and Cleveland closed on a 12-0 run to beat Chicago.
Chicago built a 122-116 lead on two free throws by Tre Jones with 1:47 left before Mitchell caught fire, pouring in three successive buckets — including a three-point play. Mitchell scored 26 of his 29 points in the second half as the Cavaliers rallied from 19 down.
De’Andre Hunter had a season-high 29 points and Evan Mobley posted 24 points and eight rebounds for Cleveland, which has won four straight. Mitchell also had six rebounds and six assists.
Isaac Okoro scored 19 points and Jalen Smith had 18 points and 11 rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench for the Bulls. Jones added 17 points and Josh Giddey provided 15 points, nine rebounds and six assists.
DENVER (AP) — Nikola Jokic had 32 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists for his sixth triple-double in nine games this season, and the short-handed Denver beat Indiana to sweep a four-game homestand.
Denver played without regulars Jamal Murray (left calf tightness) and Aaron Gordon (left hamstring) on the second game of a back-to-back. Jalen Pickett and Peyton Watson, who had a season-high 16 points, started instead.
Gordon, who missed 31 games last year with injuries, is averaging a career-best 20.1 points.
Indiana, which has been without multiple players at the start of the season, lost for the eighth time in nine games. The Pacers got Andrew Nembhard back from a left shoulder strain that cost him the last seven games.
Aaron Nesmith scored 25 points for Indiana and Nembhard added 22. Monte Morris, signed Friday, had one point in 15 minutes.
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Devin Booker had 21 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, and Phoenix held off the Clippers for their second win over Los Angeles in three days.
Mark Williams scored 19 points for the Suns, who have won four of five. Phoenix kept a lead throughout the fourth quarter, and Booker’s three-point play with 2:59 left got the Suns out of trouble after Los Angeles had trimmed the deficit to five.
Booker fell just short of his first triple-double in the regular season during his 11-year, 683-game career, failing to add a 10th assist after he returned to the game with 7:41 to play. The Suns’ star guard got his only triple-double in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals in June 2021 — also against the Clippers.
Ivica Zubac had 21 points and 15 rebounds, and John Collins scored 19 in the short-handed Clippers’ fourth straight loss. James Harden had 13 points and 13 assists, but went 2 of 10 on 3-point attempts.
