LAS VEGAS — The Miami Heat defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 92-79, in the NBA 2K25 Summer League at Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

The Heat endured a slow start but overcame that to secure a victory against the Mavericks. Dallas jumped out to a 21-14 lead after the first quarter and looked in control of the contest, but Miami responded quickly, and the Heat outscored Dallas 23-11 to give the Heat a four-point lead by halftime. The Mavericks showed signs of life in the third and fourth quarters, but every time they got closer, the Heat found a way to keep them at bay. Miami ended up closing things out in the final quarter to escape with the victory.

The backcourt of A.J. Lawson and Jazian Gortman led the way for Dallas. While Lawson finished with a team-high 22 points and six rebounds, Gortman chipped in with 19 points and three assists. Olivier-Maxence Prosper notched 11 points, three rebounds and three assists. Emanuel Miller stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Both teams will continue Summer League play on Friday. Dallas will face the Boston Celtics, while Miami will take on the Toronto Raptors.
