The Caesars Rewards loyalty program has a new top tier that customers will have to be invited to join.

Caesars Olympus will roll out in January and founding members of the first holders of Olympus status will be notified by the company in February, according to Caesars’ website.

Membership in the new tier begins at 300,000 credits. But the company says having 300,000 credits does not assure membership.

To reach that number of credits, customers would have to spend an estimated $1.5 million.

Positioned above the current highest tier, Seven Stars, credits toward Olympus status are earned through gaming, dining, entertainment, partner purchases and hotel stays.

Tier credits also can be earned through wagering with Caesars Sportsbook, the Caesars Palace online casino, the Horseshoe online casino and the World Series of Poker online.

Members of Olympus will earn reward credits 40 percent faster than in existing tiers and will receive suite upgrades and invitations to member-only events, including a seven-day annual retreat, according to Caesars. The initial founders party is scheduled at Caesars Palace in March.

A new loyalty card, designed specifically for Olympus members, will be issued beginning Feb. 1.

Reno-based Caesars Entertainment has 54 properties across North America, including nine on the Las Vegas Strip. The company currently is in the midst of a possible ownership takeover involving Houston-based Fertitta Entertainment, headed by Tilman Fertitta, who currently serves as U.S. ambassador to Italy and San Marino.
