The Seguin Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) and the City of Seguin announced H-One Co., Ltd. will build a new facility for its North American subsidiary, KTH Texas, Inc., on 40 acres along F.M. 78 near the northwest corner of I-10 and SH-46., according to a news announcement.
The planned 300,000-square-foot manufacturing plant is expected to strengthen the growing industrial corridor between San Antonio and Seguin, with construction scheduled to begin before the end of 2026 and operations expected to start in April 2028, according to the announcement.
The company has committed to investing at least $100 million into the project, including construction, machinery and equipment needed for production. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to create 170 jobs by 2031.
KTH Texas will use the plant to manufacture advanced automotive structural components, including ultra-high-strength steel and aluminum parts designed for newer vehicles focused on safety, weight reduction and fuel efficiency.
The facility will include three automated press lines, including a 3,500-ton press capable of producing large-scale vehicle components for automotive manufacturers.
“This expansion is a cornerstone of our North American growth, and Seguin is the perfect partner for this journey,” Chris Millice, president of KTH Parts Industries, Inc., said in the announcement. “Our 300,000-square-foot facility will not only house world-class technology like our 3,500-ton press lines but will also be a sanctuary for our team members.”
Millice said the company plans to prioritize a safe and supportive workplace while creating a facility designed to fit within the surrounding Seguin community.
“We are honored to welcome KTH and H-One into the Seguin community and look forward to a bright and thriving future ahead,” SEDC Executive Director Alora Wachholz said in the announcement. “This project will bring highly skilled, quality jobs to our region that will both expand economic opportunity for our residents, as well as strengthen Seguin’s position as the premier destination to do business in the Central Texas region.”
H-One Co., Ltd., traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, specializes in automotive frame components with a focus on safety and lightweight engineering. Its KTH Texas subsidiary supplies components to major automotive manufacturers as a Tier-1 supplier.
The Seguin project adds to a wave of manufacturing and industrial growth along the San Antonio-Austin corridor, where communities east of San Antonio have attracted new investments in recent months.
