A powerful winter storm buried parts of the New York City region and Long Island under nearly 2 feet of snow on Feb. 23, with some communities reporting more than 20 inches as the blizzard swept across the area.
Much of New York City and surrounding counties saw between 15 and 19 inches, according to the National Weather Service. Below are the snow totals:
