The NHL announced the order of selections for the league’s upcoming draft which well be held June 26 and 27.
In total, the Penguins currently have five selections:

Two of the selections the Penguins currently possess were obtained via trades:
• The No. 39 overall selection came as part of a deal that sent defenseman Luke Schenn to the Winnipeg Jets on March 7, 2025. The Penguins also acquired a fourth-round selection in the 2027 NHL Draft in that transaction.
• The No. 170 overall selection came from the Nashville Predators as part of a deal that brought forward Cody Glass and a third-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft to the Penguins in exchange for forward Jordan Frasca on Aug. 13, 2024.
Four selections that originally belonged to the Penguins are currently elsewhere as a result of trades.
• A fourth-round selection (No. 118 overall) and forward Michael Bunting went to the Predators in exchange for Schenn and forward Tommy Novak to the Penguins on March 5, 2025.
• A fifth-round selection (No. 150 overall) and a second-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft went to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for a second-round selection in this year’s draft and a third-round selection in 2025 on Aug. 13, 2024.
(That second-round selection in this year’s draft acquired by the Penguins was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets as part of a deal that brought forward Ego Chinakhov to the Penguins on Dec.29, 2025)
• A sixth-round selection (No. 182 overall) and forward Alex Nylander went to the Blue Jackets in exchange for forward Emil Bemstrom on Feb. 22, 2024

Note: Kain Tisi, previously the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins’ goaltending coach, has been hired for the same position with the Hamilton Hammers, a new American Hockey League franchise that will be affiliated with the New York Islanders. A member of the Penguins’ organization in various capacities, Tisi had overseen the development of goaltending prospects such as Joel Blomqvist, Sergei Murashov and others.
