SCSU is headed to its sixth consecutive and 11th-ever NCAA Tournament after winning the NSIC Tournament. It was the Huskies second NSIC Tournament Championship in a row and fourth in program history (2021, 2022, 2024, 2025), all coming in the last five years. St. Cloud State improved to 16-2 (.889) all-time in NSIC Tournament matches and 4-2 in championship matches. The Huskies have reached the tournament final in each of the last six seasons which have been the only tournaments in program history.
The Huskies had four players named to the all-tournament team – Junior outside hitter Shelby Kimm (North Liberty, Iowa), sophomore setter Braya LaPlant (Grand Rapids, Minn.), redshirt senior middle blocker Ella Thompson (Lakeville, Minn.) and graduate opposite Sam Zimmerman (Moorhead, Minn.) for the fourth time in program history (2021, 2022, 2024, 2025). Each of the four also earned All-NSIC honors with Kimm, LaPlant and Thompson being named to the first team and Zimmerman earning second team honors. Head coach Chad Braegelmann became just the second coach in SCSU Volleyball history to surpass 200 wins as the program’s head coach on Nov. 8.
