No. 6 Northwestern Set For NCAA Midwest Regional – Northwestern Wildcats

EVANSTON, Ill. (March 7, 2026) – Fresh off winning its second Central Collegiate Fencing Conference (CCFC) title in three seasons, No. 6 Northwestern fencing resumes postseason competition on Sunday morning at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Cleveland, Ohio.
 
Action inside Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center will begin at 8 a.m. CT with the opening rounds of pool action in the epee, foil, and sabre. A link to live results can be accessed above.
 
The Wildcats will be joined at the regional meet by competitors from No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 7 Ohio State, event host Cleveland State, Denison, Detroit Mercy, Lawrence, and Wayne State.
 
MEET SCHEDULE
8 a.m. CT – Women’s Epee
8 a.m. CT – Women’s Foil
8 a.m. CT – Women’s Sabre
 
LAST TIME OUT
Northwestern finished a perfect 6-0 in the team competition at the CCFC Championships to capture the league crown in dominant fashion.  The ‘Cats posted a combined 17-1 record across all weapons en route to sweeping the conference squad titles.
 
On the individual front, Daphne Chan Nok Sze swept all 13 of her bouts on the way to claiming the CCFC’s foil title.  Led by Chan Nok Sze’s showing, Northwestern piled up 12 podium finishes, capturing half of the medals available on the final day of the meet.
 
‘CATS CLAIM ALL-CCFC HONORS
Following the CCFC Championships, nine Wildcats were recognized as All-CCFC honorees.  Chan Nok Sze and Juliana Hung secured First Team distinction in the foil, while Samantha Serban earned an Honorable Mention nod.
 
After placing third in the epee at the conference meet, Karen Wang took home the fourth First Team All-CCFC award of her decorated career.  Hailin Chen (Second Team) and Anna Damratoski (Honorable Mention) brought home the first All-CCFC honors of their time as Wildcats.
 
In the sabre, Elaine Lu, who took third in the event, and Nisha Hild received First Team accolades.  Megumi Oishi joined Wang in cementing herself as a four-time All-CCFC pick, earning Second Team honors.
 
UP NEXT
The University of Notre Dame will play host to the 2026 NCAA Fencing Championships, March 19-20, in South Bend, Ind.
