HOUSTON – A man was found dead in a driveway after being shot while at a graduation party in Southeast Houston early Sunday morning.
The Houston Police Department received a 911 call around 1 a.m. for the home on Mossrose Street.
There officers found a man dead in the driveway and another person with non-life threatening injuries after being shot.

Bobby Torres Sr. tells KPRC 2′s Gage Goulding that he was hosting a graduation party for his son, Bobby Torres Jr., who just graduated from Milby High School.
“I was like, ‘Yeah, congratulations to Bobby Torres. I want to take this time and give him my son thanks,’” Torres Sr. said. “As I was giving the speech to my son, we hear like a, what sounds like a Uzi.”
Both father and son ran to the front of their home to find people shooting at their house and their neighbors.
Plus, people from their party were shooting back.
“I quickly put my son down. Get underneath the car, Bobby, and get underneath the car,” Torres Sr. said.
When the gunfire stopped, two people were shot and one was dead.
“I had no idea who that young man was,” said Torres Sr. “I mean, it was sad because my nephew was trying to perform CPR on him.”
He had no idea who that young man was. This was someone who was at his son’s graduation party. How didn’t he know them?
The answer: he didn’t invite them.
“My son posted it on social media,” Torres Sr. said. “For some of his friends, then his friends posted it again.”
In a matter of minutes, this friends and family only small gathering turned into nearly 100 people.
“Me, as a parent, I feel like I should have had stepped up a little bit more,” the father said.
His house was only shot once, but his neighbors was riddled with four bullet holes.
“Almost killed my sister. But I pull her and [got to] the floor here,” said a neighbor.
“I mean, it could be a lot more drastic than what happened last night. A lot of people could have died,” added Torres Sr.
He’s counting his blessings that isn’t the case.
But he also hopes other parents see what happened at his house and takes this as a warning sign.
“Just your family. Just the people you know. Don’t make it open. It’s not. It’s not good,” said Torres Jr.
Houston Police have not arrested any of the people who were shooting.
