Pasadena-based Pacific Oaks College will host a Virtual Open House on Thursday, November 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Rooted in Quaker principles, Pacific Oaks offers bachelor’s and master’s programs in fields such as early childhood education, human development, marriage and family therapy, and organizational leadership.

The College’s approach to education emphasizes social justice, respect, diversity, and inclusion.

The college is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

The Virtual Open House event aims to connect prospective students with deans and core faculty members through specialized breakout sessions, providing detailed information about the college’s academic offerings.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, participants will learn about financial assistance options, including institutional scholarships for new students, donor scholarships for current students, Pell Grants, Cal Grants for California residents, and federal work-study programs.

Established in 1958, Pacific Oaks College originated from the Pacific Oaks Friends School, founded in 1945 by seven Quaker families aiming to develop an educational approach based on equality, simplicity, nonviolence, and community.

Pacific Oaks distinguishes itself through an anti-bias curriculum emphasizing social justice and human development, offering both on-campus and online degree programs for undergraduate and graduate students.

Current benefits include a notable 25% tuition scholarship specifically designated for parents whose children attend the Pacific Oaks children’s school program.

The institution maintains a commitment to accessibility, combining professional education with an emphasis on individual values and experiences across its diverse student population.

The college was created to train educators for the school, expanding its mission to prepare students to serve diverse communities. Over the years, it has maintained its commitment to progressive education and social justice, reflecting its foundational values in its academic programs and community engagement.
