Monson Savings Bank announced that Ana M. Parrelli, of Ludlow, has joined the bank as business development officer.
Parrelli is responsible for establishing and nurturing banking relationships with commercial and municipal deposit customers.
She has 25 years of experience in sales leadership and business development, specifically in the finance and banking industry.
Parrelli previously served as the vice president of member services and community development at LUSO Federal Credit Union. She previously worked for 20 years for American Red Cross Blood Services as district manager of donor services for Western, Central and Northeastern Massachusetts.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors for ERC5 and Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts. She is also a member of the Ludlow Rotary Club and serves on the Dementia-Friendly Task Force for the town of Ludlow.

South Hadley Electric Light Department Commissioner John Hine has been recognized by the Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company, SHELD’s joint action agency, for his longtime dedication to public power. The award was presented to Hine at MMWEC’s 2025 Annual Conference held at the Wylie Inn and Conference Center at Endicott College in Beverly.
Hine received the Philip W. Sweeney Public Service Award at the conference. The award is named in honor of the late director of MMWEC, chairman of the Marblehead Municipal Light Department Board of Commissioners, and member of the APPA Policy Makers’ Council.
Hine has served on the SHELD Electric Light Board since 2016. He previously served as chairman of South Hadley’s Personnel Board, on the town’s School Committee, and Planning Board. He was also a member of the Selectboard, was sewer commissioner for 10 years, a member of the Wetlands Bylaw Committee for eight years and is the current town moderator. He holds a degree from Vassar College and is a retired senior business analyst from Baystate Health.
Hine has been the driving force behind SHELD’s fiber optic internet business development and expansion, which is soon expanding from three service communities to four.

Holyoke Community College President George Timmons has joined Presidents for Latino Student Success, a group of college presidents and chancellors committed to making their campuses learning environments where Latino — and all — students thrive.
Excelencia in Education created Presidents for Latino Student Success in 2014 to support institutional leaders who are transforming higher education.
Timmons joins more than 150 leaders that belong to the Presidents network and lead the nation in enrolling and graduating Latino students. Although the network represents only 5 percent of the thousands of colleges and universities across the country, affiliated institutions enroll 32 percent – and graduate 34 percent – of all Latino students in higher education.
HCC has been a federally designated Hispanic Serving Institution since 2016. In fall 2024, 33 percent of all HCC students identified as Hispanic or Latino.
