PFL Europe will head to Nantes, France on September 26, with the “Lazy King” returning home for the fight.
The aforementioned “King,” Abdoul Abdouraguimov, hails from Nantes, and will headline the card while seeking out his 10th consecutive victory. Promotion officials announced the event via press release on Monday. No opponent has been named for Abdouraguimov (19-1, 1NC), who claimed championships at both welterweight and middleweight for ARES FC.
Abdouraguimov made his debut for the PFL in 2023 and has gone 3-0 under the promotion’s banner. His most recent action came in December, where he earned a win over UFC veteran Laureano Staropoli. While the fight went the distance, the “Lazy King” came away with a unanimous decision victory, after entering as a massive -1200 favorite.
Of note, Abdouraguimov, born in Russia, has never before fought in his adopted home of Nantes. France only legalized MMA roughly five years ago, with Bellator MMA being the first major promotion to run a show in the nation. The UFC made their debut in the country in Paris, France in 2022.
The PFL Europe lightweight and bantamweight tournament semifinals will also take place at PFL Europe Nantes.
“This is our third new city in as many events for PFL Europe in 2025, and I’ve heard special things about Nantes. When we have a star on our hands like Lazy King, it makes sense to bring him to his home crowd for the first time in his career,” PFL CEO Peter Murray was quoted as saying in Monday’s press release.
