SALT LAKE CITY — The trek to Salt Lake City International Airport’s Concourse B may soon be well worth it for fans of bagels, tacos, submarine sandwiches, health foods, dirty sodas, beer and more.
Airport officials announced 12 concessions coming to the concourse over the next two years as construction to expand the facility continues.

Airport officials said the concessions were determined by reviewing local, regional and national brands while reviewing which businesses could provide appropriate operation hours, service standards and street pricing. The latter is a requirement that prices inside the airport are akin to prices outside of the airport.
They add that they were specifically looking for two “full-service restaurants with alcohol service” and five quick-serve restaurants within the mix of stores. These guidelines led them to seven restaurants that currently don’t operate in the airport.
In some cases, such as Monarca — a Mexican restaurant that opened in downtown Salt Lake City three years ago — it’s the brand’s first-ever expansion.
“The new airport is continually recognized as having one of the best concession programs in the country, which we have worked hard to achieve,” said Bill Wyatt, the airport’s executive director, in a statement. “Many of the brands and concepts selected are Utah-based to highlight the unique flavor of the state.”
The new stores are slated to open between late 2025 and the end of 2026 as part of the airport’s Phase 4 construction plan. The plan also calls for 16 new Concourse B gates to open, five of which are scheduled to open in the fall of 2025 and the rest by the fall of 2026.
Of course, airport officials believe the trek to Concourse B will be shortened by then. Construction crews are currently finishing up work on the new “river tunnel” that connects the main terminal to the future center of Concourse B as a part of Phase 3.
The phase, which is expected to be completed this fall, also adds eight new gates to Concourse B, including 12 other restaurant and retail options.
