DENVER (KDVR) — Even with scattered showers and severe weather across Colorado ending the month of May, the first weekend of June brings sunshine and 80-degree — maybe even 90-degree — temperatures to Denver.

Last weekend, Coloradans were able to see a rare corpse flower bloom, as well as enjoy the long and sunny weekend. While there isn’t another flower that smells like rotting flesh set to bloom this weekend, there’s still plenty to do.

Things to do around Denver this weekend

Here are a few events going on in Denver this weekend.

Outside Festival

Good thing it’s warm out because this concert – as you may have guessed – takes place outside at Civic Center Park. The two-day festival features headliners like Thundercat and Fleet Foxes with one-day tickets ranging from $59-$79.

Free fishing weekend

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is offering a free fishing weekend from June 1-2. If you’re looking for the best catch, CPW publishes a report that provides information on bodies of water around the state. The report is free and available on the department’s website.

Brooks and Dunn

The singers of “Neon Moon,” “Brand New Man” and “Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You” are playing at Ball Arena on Friday. Tickets are still available for as low as $46 without fees.

Denver Chalk Art Festival

The Denver Chalk Art Festival takes place in Denver’s Golden Triangle neighborhood on Friday and Saturday. With more than 200 artists attending the event, you can see designs like 3D chalk art.

Cherry Creek North Summer Concert Series

The concert series at Fillmore Plaza kicks off the season on Saturday with four free performances. Roadside Distraction, Emelise Munoz, Jordin Dearinger and Amy Martin will be in the week one lineup.

U.S. Women’s National Team vs. Korea Republic

The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team will be playing at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday. The team has already been spotted before the match at the University of Colorado. The team will play against Korea Republic at 3 p.m.

Rainbow Kitten Suprise

The alternative rock band is playing from Thursday through Saturday at Mission Ballroom. Rainbow Kitten Suprise is well known for their songs “Cocaine Jesus,” “It’s Called: Freefall” and “Devil Like Me.” Tickets are still on sale for as low as $69.

Even though the weather is expected to be nice this weekend, if you’re heading to an outdoor activity, be sure to keep up with the latest updates.
