At The Sheraton Boston Hotel, guests can immerse themselves in a unique amenity: the chance to spend the night inside a classic bedtime story.
The hotel’s new Goodnight Moon suite is a collaboration between HarperCollins and the estate of Margaret Wise Brown, the author whose 1947 bedtime story became a guide to rest and comfort for generations of families.
Blurring the lines between imagination, whimsy and real world luxury, each design element in the room echoes familiar moments in the book: the green walls and red carpet, flickering LED fireplace, working dollhouse, yellow curtains and the moonlight. The old lady whispering “hush” appears as a framed silhouette, and a copy of the Goodnight Moon book sits on the nightstand for bedtime reading. And, of course, the iconic red balloon gently floats in the corner.

Guests who book a stay are greeted with a plush bunny and a turn-down ritual of milk and cookies served in a porcelain bowl marked “mush” — another (literal!) sweet nod to the book.
Perched on the 24th floor with views of Boston’s Charles River, the suite is designed for a family getaway, accommodating two adults and two children. The Great Green Room includes a queen bed, while a main bedroom features a king-size bed for grown-ups.

A beloved bedtime story, Brown’s Goodnight Moon follows the tale of a small bunny saying goodnight to all the familiar objects in his softly lit “great green room” — like the clocks, kittens, mittens and the moon outside his window. With illustrations by Clement Hurd, the book follows the quiet ritual of winding down at the end of the day.

The redesigned suite, which is available through February 2026, is part of Sheraton’s “Goodnight Room” campaign, which also includes a short film about a working mother calling her son from a hotel room to tell him about her day.
In the past, literary and pop-culture-themed rooms have popped in hotels around the country — including designs that mimic Monica and Rachel’s Friends apartment, an all-pink Barbie’s Dream House room, a winter wonderland from Elf and a chocolate fantasy from Wonka.
